Wabi-sabi is a Japanese philosophy that embraces the beauty of imperfection and impermanence. It is a way of finding elegance in the natural cycle of growth and decay. This exhibition is a celebration of nature’s intricate beauty, inspired by the imperfect yet harmonious patterns we see around us. This new collection captures the essence of nature’s quiet wisdom and its reflection of the wabi-sabi philosophy—the beauty of imperfection and impermanence.
This exhibition is my heartfelt farewell to Hawke’s Bay, honouring the land and the people who have shaped my journey over the past three years. Through these works, I hope to inspire reflection, gratitude, and a deeper connection to the beauty around us. As I begin a new chapter — pursuing a Master’s in Psychology and dedicating myself to adding deeper meaning to my art and psychological practice — this collection is both a farewell and an invitation to find beauty in life’s impermanence.
Hawke’s Bay is my grounding place and will always be my home. It’s a place worth returning to and staying connected with. See you again!
